Screening on Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:30pm is the new documentary An Unlikely Weapon: The Eddie Adams Story. The Blanton Museum of Art is hosting the event which will include a Q&A after with David Hurne Kennerly and Alyssa Adams.
Eddie Adams' work in Vietnam will be familiar to many people. I'm looking forward to a more in-depth look at his life and work.
I remember seeing the scene depicted on the cover of the book on the evening news when I was a kid. That scene and another of a little vietnamese girl running naked from a napalm bomb fire are indelibly written in my memory. I belive they served to change public opinion about the nature of the vietnam war.
